Labor and Employment

When you pay good money to enter an entertainment venue, chances are you assume that part of your entrance fee is used to pay the performers and other staff a fair wage. We assume this is the case because there we think state and federal laws force employers to provide those fair wages or at least a minimum wage. Most Americans are working class. This is why we tend to cringe when the evening news tells us that one of our favorite stores relies on under paid employees in third world nations. What about when it happens in our own back yard?

We have Federal and State minimum wage laws for a reason. These minimum standards exist to prevent millionaires like Peter Carroll and multi million dollar incorporations from unjustly enriching themselves. While it seems there is a loop hole in the Federal law to the minimum wage laws, there seems to be no loop hole to the $7.00 an hour that the state of Ohio has instead on since January 1, 2008.

Do you see an exemption for ORF Inc. - This is the Ohio Law Poster concerning minimum wage
